Georg Leidenberger is a historian and professor employed at Mexico City’s Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. He specializes in topics in North America during the twentieth century, such as the labor movement, mass transit, urban politics and development, as well as modern architecture and social housing. His book publications include Chicago’s Progressive Alliance: Labor and the Bid for Public Streetcars (Illinois, 2006), La historia viaja en tranvía. El transporte público y la cultura política de la ciudad de México (“A history of streetcars: public transportation and political culture in Mexico City,” Mexico City, 2010), and Sobre la biografía y el gran arquitecto (“On biography and the Great Architect,” Buenos Aires, 2019). The subject of his participation in (...) is his most recent book: Architect Hannes Meyer and Radical Modernism. A Biography (Lausanne, 2023), which constitutes the first biography of this long forgotten vanguard of the first-generation modern movement.
